Mother's Day Boutonnieres

Tuesday, May 22, 2012

I headed out bright and early Saturday morning for the best selection of flowers, and that's what I got!  I had to make boutonnieres for all the moms in my church, and wrapping five stems per boutonniere with floral tape was a huge job.  My friend Olga came and helped, which was a relief, not to mention good company.  I haven't worked with flowers in a while, and I was surprised how much fun I had!

Got these beauties home.  I bought pink-tipped and lavender (my favorite) roses, as well as sprays of orange and white roses. I think roses in unexpected colors are the best kind.

All you need to make these is wire cutters, floral tape, and floral wire.  Then watch a youTube video if you wish, and you're good to go.

The end result.  I hope all those moms felt pretty special!

xoxo,
Tanya

Wow, good job! Did you do these all on your own?

No, Julia, Olga A helped me a ton. Good thing, cause I would've been suffering on my own.
