I have some news...

There is a little secret I want to get out...

WE'RE HAVING A BABY!!!

I hate keeping a secret that is at the top of my mind every. single. day. So now that I'm 12 weeks (13 on Friday), I think it's time to let the cat out of the bag.

We are kind of reveling in our joy at our house right now. It's really exciting to know there is a tiny baby being formed with each passing day in my stomach, and B is especially lovey-dovey these days, giving me extra hugs and kisses when he gets home from work. That man is pretty dang excited! (And proud of himself, but let's not dwell there too long...)

The nausea and morning sickness and indigestion and insomnia (oh, the insomnia) will all be worth it in the end. And now that everyone knows, I can finally admit that I was taking a nap...again. (Whoever knows me well knows I normally despise napping.)

(It's so exciting up in here today! First my news, and also the fact that this is my 100th post. Can't believe I've already written 100, I swear it feels like 25. Just wanted to commemorate my little milestone today.)  :)

Bash, Please weddings

Tuesday, October 30, 2012

Bash, Please is an event coordination company based in Culver City, California that I found during one of my recent online time-waste-a-thons. :) But seriously, these girls have me all kinds of inspired. And of course they're from California...that state is chock full of creative types!

Party planning has always been my thing, and I've helped decorate a couple weddings myself, so looking through these gorgeous weddings makes me itch to do another. I have a friend who needs to hurry up and get married, because she has already agreed to let me decorate her wedding, and I'm chomping at the bit!
See what I mean?

Winter shop update

Monday, October 29, 2012

I got around to updating my Etsy shop today (hallelujah!) with some winter items as well as a few adorable little dresses.

Vintage clothes are so fun! I just wish I could find more of them in my kids' sizes because they're getting so darn big now! Baby stuff is the easiest to find, however, and frankly, the cutest. :)

Corn and pumpkins

The week after our family trip to the pumpkin patch with my sister and her family, I got to come along on Olivia's preschool field trip to the same place! Mila was out of school that day because of parent/teacher conferences, so I was able to bring her along with us. It was basically just like last year, except then it was Mila's preschool class and Olivia tagged along.

This time I was even better prepared for nasty weather than last week, and of course it was the most beautiful morning! Poor Olivia had to sweat it out a little in her furry boots and sweats.  We stayed well past the time the other preschool kids went back to school, taking our time and soaking in the sunshine. And we got lots of pumpkin pictures!

I told them we're going to take some silly photos by the pumpkins, so this was Mila's version of silly. I love that all Olivia can do is a big grin--that girl is one big ball of sweetness.

The glow

Saturday, October 27, 2012

The Glow was started in January 2011 as "a glimpse into the world of inspiring and fashionable moms" and has been a favorite site of mine ever since. Motherhood is such a beautiful thing, and seeing glimpses of another mom's life with her kids helps me see the beauty in the everyday in my own life. Because God knows there are plenty of moments when being a stay-at-home mom makes you feel the exact opposite of glamorous and beautiful! The tips and tricks and ideas from each mom they feature are really handy, and the photography is candid and real, which is always my favorite.

My favorite features are probably Rebecca Minkoff, Ramya Giangola, and Jenne Lombardo, but really, they're all good.
