Cousins and friends

Our kids are lucky enough to have cousins that live literally five minutes away, and they get to see each other all the time. My sister and I like to have each others' kids over to play as often as we can (sometimes life and sick kids get in the way though), and even though it's chaos, it's so fun to be able to have our kids spend time together. Noah and Olivia are pretty inseparable, and even though they fight, they can't stay away from each other for long. And no wonder--they are only 11 months apart. Adele looks like a giant compared to Naomi, but they are only 11 months apart as well, and Naomi is already catching up in size. It won't be long until they're best friends and doing everything together.

Also, since I painted the play room and redecorated in there, I have been loving hanging out there with the kids. It just feels so calm and inviting now as opposed to the way the walls used to press in on my head before. The light is bright and beautiful and everything has a place, and it feels like I can breathe now. I have taken my time figuring out where I want things to go on the walls, I've hung some prints, and once Bogdan hangs a cable for art, the room will be done for now. I actually have my sewing table in there temporarily, and I'll mend something while Naomi plays on the floor, so it's been working out really well. With every room that I paint, I get more excited to paint the next because of the difference it makes. Plus it's just the kick in the pants I need to get the room redecorated to how I really want it to be.
